Shipping Leadperson

Oversees the activities of shipping personnel in the absence of shipping supervisors, to separate and accurately ship product to destination.  In addition, this person will pull orders, count, load and unload product on incoming and outgoing trailers according to the shipping schedule. Starting Pay is $22.11/hr



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Oversees and trains shipping personnel.

- Ensures that production orders are filled correctly and distribution of product is completed according to schedule.

- Reviews documents for accuracy; assists in identifying and eliminating errors.

- Ensures that product received from production or other plants is recorded correctly.

- Load and unloads to appropriate distribution area to ensure that shipping schedules are met.

- Maintains cleanliness of work area.

- Practice and complies with all Company policies and procedures including safety and work rules, etc.

- Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.




- Must possess/maintain a valid license to operate forklift equipment.



- Physically capable of movement to all Shipping areas.

- Ability to exert force necessary to move wheeled equipment weighing (250 lbs), at a distance of (75) feet.

- Ability to routinely stoop, bend and lift product containers weighing (35) lbs.



- Ability to distinguish color coded equipment, containers, labels, signs, etc.



- Speech and hearing abilities that allow the individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English, and/or another language, if required.

- Ability to generate written communication and operate required office equipment. 

- Ability to read, comprehend and practice necessary safety procedures, signs, etc.



- Ability to wear and use approved, applicable safety equipment, as needed. 

- Must meet/ maintain CDC food handling requirements and other government and/or customer requirements.

- Ability to meet FDA guidelines of public safety for work in a food production environment.

- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.

- Ability to work in a 70 degree to 120 degree environment.

- Performance of other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies, and procedures.



One (1) or more years of experience within a warehousing, inventory control or distribution environment.



High School diploma or equivalency plus Associate or higher college degree and/or no less than 9/12 months Vo-Tech Certificate or equivalent military training, other related technical training.
