Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities

Flowers Bakeries has an immediate opening for a Distribution Manager.

 

A Distribution Manager has responsibility for the safe, efficient and timely operation of the Shipping & Transport department. They will direct and oversee the implementation, operation, and maintenance of automated shipping systems. 
 

Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ leadership experience (distribution/shipping/warehouse preferred)

Additional Ingredients: Essential Job Duties

  • Promotes positive employee relations and interdepartmental communication and cooperation
  • Supervises activities of the Shipping and 3rd party transport providers.
  • Ensures that products received from Production Department and from other plants are properly handled and shipped on schedule.
  • Recruits and, in conjunction with the Human Resources Department, hires qualified shipping personnel and drivers
  • Develops and maintains a close working relation with the contracted shipper
  • Assists in preparing and evaluating operating budget
