Bringing Home the Dough

Responsible for managing and directing Inventory Control department to ensure that all material used in multiple plant locations is correctly and timely replenished, received, inspected and accounted for. Also makes intercompany shipments when necessary. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect affect on product safety, legality and/or quality.

Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities

  • Manages and directs direct reports as well as assuming responsibility for entire department
  • Responsible for employee training and development
  • Makes recommendations on disciplinary action and participates in the disciplinary action process as necessary
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.)
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
  • Performs other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.
  • Supervises staff and department to:
    • Ensure that all required ingredients, wrapping and labeling supplies, and miscellaneous items are replenished
    • Receive and inspect all incoming shipments for damaged or unsanitary merchandise and refuses or returns such items.
    • Ensure that production supplies are properly stored and rotated
    • Ensure accurate inventory of supplies is performed each week
    • Properly arrange for intercompany shipment(s) of materials to other plants.
    • Properly complete daily/weekly administrative paperwork.
    • Ensures that work area is clean and organized (like items together and in designated areas).
    • Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.)
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.

Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications

Three or more years’ experience in shipping/receiving operations.

Additional Ingredients: Essential Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalency  
  • Completion of formal management skills training
