Bringing Home the Dough

Industrial Maintenance Leads ensure optimal efficiency is achieved by performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. The Industrial Maintenance Lead is a developmental position, designed to prepare incumbent for a supervisory role, often acting as Industrial Maintenance Supervisor in supervisor’s absence. This role is also responsible for contributing to and fostering the professional development, aptitude and technical expertise/performance of all hourly members of the industrial maintenance department.

 

DOE Starting rate $32.72-$37.62

Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities

    
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Demonstrate safe work habits, proper tool selection and usage, general shop practices, maintenance tasks, knowledge of support equipment, and thorough knowledge of critical and non-critical equipment components and equipment operational sequencing
• Demonstrate knowledge of electrical, welding, gas welding, cutting, soldering, pipe fittings, and metal fabrication (milling and lathe)
• Identify and inspect mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components
• Rebuild mechanical drive components such as clutches, brakes, conveyer belts, etc.
• Verify and correct mechanical timing
• Perform proper component lubrication and conduct preventive maintenance on specific equipment
• Identify mechanical wear and identify, troubleshoot, and replace mechanical drive and conveyor components
• Identify, wire, and troubleshoot electrical components
• Install and troubleshoot servo motors and drives and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• Identify and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) components and hardware
• Troubleshoot control wiring
• Train for supervision role: shadow running a shift, SAP and reporting, critical process inspections, and preventive maintenance (PM) work verification of technicians
• Provide coverage for supervisor PTO
• Inspect shop (daily plant walk-through), ensuring cleanliness and that floor is shift ready, delegating tasks to technicians, as needed
• Demonstrate teamwork, communicate with empathy, and display accountability
• Practice learned knowledge of environmental and maintenance programs
• Maintain clean and safe work environment
• Practice and comply with all Company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.)
• Perform other duties deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures
• Possess or attain licenses required by their respective municipal, county/ward or state regulatory agencies to work with boilers, refrigeration components and various other job-related equipment

Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a technician with demonstrated knowledge in industrial electrical wiring, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) troubleshooting, motor control, equipment repair and installation

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; technical/trade school certification or diploma, a plus.
