Bringing Home the Dough

The Distribution Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely operation of the Shipping Department. This role directs and oversees the implementation, operation, and maintenance of automated shipping systems to ensure optimal performance. The position requires demonstrated competency in all job functions that directly or indirectly impact product safety, legality, and quality. The ideal candidate will lead by example, maintain regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement within shipping operations.

Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities

  • Carry out policies established by company leadership and outlined in company policy manuals
  • Supervise daily activities of Shipping Department personnel and third-party transport providers
  • Ensure that shipping employees are properly trained in the safe and effective operation of equipment
  • Maintain timely and accurate handling and shipment of products from both the Production Department and other facilities
  • Promote positive employee relations and encourage effective interdepartmental communication and cooperation
  • Partner with Human Resources to recruit, interview, and hire qualified shipping personnel
  • Maintain regular communication with department heads to support smooth operations
  • Develop and sustain a productive relationship with contracted shippers
  • Establish and monitor compliance with safety programs and safe operating procedures
  • Assist in the preparation and evaluation of the Shipping Department's operating budget
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures, including EEO, Safety, Harassment Prevention, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Contribute to overall company profitability by maximizing operational efficiency and minimizing risk

Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years logistics leadership experience
  • 3+ years Warehouse & Transportation Management System experience

  • High School diploma or equivalency

We offer a competitive salary and an excellent total rewards package. Salary range - $110,000 - $120,000 DOE.
