Bringing Home the Dough
Under the direction and guidance of the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), the HR Generalist will receive training in the management of the human resource function including human resource policies and procedures, benefits, safety, compensation, training and development, employee relations and communications. Provides assistance in a staff capacity to the HRBP in implementing personnel and employee relations responsibilities. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect effect on product safety, legality and/or quality.
Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities
- Conducts internal investigations, grievance meetings and any other fact finding interactions to gain information and make appropriate recommendations for appropriate resolution
- Process weekly payroll for 500+ employee organization consisting of union and non-union staff who are both Exempt/Non-Exempt
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports, including gross payroll, hours worked, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc
- Completes data entry for employee maintenance, including new hire paperwork, system changes, compensation changes, position changes, garnishments, payroll deductions, and terminations
- Participates and assists with inclusion initiatives, engagement programs, and community based community service programs for employees
- Participates and assists in the day to day activities of the Human Resources department to include but not limited to employee relations, labor relations, benefits, liability management, unemployment
- Administers necessary in-house training and development programs. Completes assessment of plant training needs and makes recommendations for needed training
- Assists with the development, marketing, coordination, and communication of all employee recognition programs and miscellaneous employee and/or property celebrations
- Assists with insurance related needs to include Workers Compensation, Product Liability, and Unemployment and coordinates with 3rd party vendors for employee information attends hearings and analyzes data available to identify trends
- Assists in the review and development of plant specific policies, practices and programs and will recommend changes as needed
- Maintain employee personnel files on a regular basis ensuring compliance with record keeping requirements
- Performance of other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, the ability to work other schedules as needed, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures
Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years HR Generalist experience (Union experience preferred)

- A four year degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
