QA Specification Coordinator - Remote

Summary

Position is responsible for developing and maintaining all corporate Technical Service supported specification QA databases associated with product sold by Flowers Foods and its subsidiaries. This would include entering, generating, maintaining, and communicating specification information in customer databases for items produced and marketed by Flowers Foods and its subsidiaries.  Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect affect on product safety, legality and/or quality.

Requires constant interaction with work group and other departments at the primary work location.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assemble, collect, prepare, and distribute Product Specifications as requested by specific customers. This includes inputting and maintaining product specification information into a customer’s database when applicable.
  • Function as a liaison with all applicable internal disciplines (including by not limited to R&D, manufacturing locations, ingredient vendors, and purchasing) to obtain, maintain, and distribute required specification information. This includes collection and input of product specification data into a company specified format for Flowers Foods, Inc. produced products.
  • Assure that any specification updates are effectively communicated externally to Flowers customers as well as internally to all applicable Flowers Foods personnel.
  • Attain and maintain proficient skills in using SAP to review plant formula and ingredient in-formation.
  • This position is responsible for learning and maintaining different databases and/or computer- based programs as required to support Flowers customers.
  • Position requires demonstration of competency with understanding NLEA labeling requirements. This competency can be demonstrated through attendance of a Labeling of FDA Regulated Foods course once every 5 years.
  • Position requires demonstration of competency with understanding of Food Allergens. This competency can be demonstrated through attendance of a Food Allergen course as specified by management.
  • Assists supervisor with projects as needed.
  • Practice and comply with all Company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.)
  • Performance of other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures

Desired Experience

1 -3 years of experience preferred in the baking industry or related food manufacturing industry preferred.

Desired Education

Requires a bachelor’s degree in bakery science, food science, or related field.
