Bringing Home the Dough
The Regional Sales HR Business Partner seeks to build a strong advisory relationship with DSD sales leaders and will act as the main HR strategic advisor to deploy HR strategies and solutions within the assigned CA Sales region. This role leverages business and HR expertise to identify and implement HR-related improvement opportunities and collaborates with key stakeholders such as corporate and HR shared services, to assess the delivery of HR programs and services to ensure the needs of the organization and the business are being met. Collaborate with labor relations/employee relations to ensure policies, procedures, legal requirements and consistency are being met.
This role will act as change champion on behalf of regional sales leadership and employees. The Regional Sales HR Business Partner will help to forecast the needs of the business from an HR perspective, manage talent retention and exits, partner with Talent Management to deliver learning and development opportunities and to assist with succession planning and recruiting efforts.
This role builds and maintains positive employee relations as well as relationships with union leadership, and internal stakeholders, ensuring that labor agreements and workforce practices align with the company’s operational goals and values. The position is instrumental in promoting a collaborative work culture, mitigating labor-related risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Will be responsible for labor contract administration within region.
Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities
Corporate Values and Culture:
• Actively promote and reinforce Flowers Foods corporate values and culture.
Strategic HR Partnership:
• Promote the strategic relationship between HR and management to define business challenges and translate them into focused HR initiatives. Partner with DSD sales leadership as the primary HR strategic advisor for a region.
• Act as an escalation point for DSD sales HR leaders regarding labor and employee relations inquiries.
• Network and collaborate with HR Sales Business Partners and Centers of Excellence to establish a common innovation agenda.
• Actively listen to various points of view to arrive at the best solutions.
• Embrace and drive change for HR programs.
• Support employee engagement and cultural programs and initiatives.
• Monitor HR data and trends to provide insights and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Willingness to travel regionally as necessary.
Talent Management:
• Coach and support regional HR and business leaders on employee relations strategies that drive an inclusive work environment where employees feel valued and engaged.
• Manage and build a strategic talent pipeline through recruiting, talent development, performance management, and leadership development strategies.
• Assist Sales HRBP’s in training and development for the DSD sales leadership team.
Policy Interpretation and Employee Relations:
• Provide regional input to ensure HR programs are feasible for DSD sales.
• Interpret HR policies and approve exceptions within delegated authority; escalate as necessary.
• Practice and comply with all Company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties deemed integral to the job by management.
• Implement and support enterprise-wide labor relations strategies at the regional level in alignment with business and HR objectives.
• Partner with the Sr Director of Labor Relations with overseeing the negotiation and administration of collective bargaining agreements in the assigned region.
• Partner with legal and HR to ensure contract compliance and address grievances and arbitration matters.
Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications
• An HR leadership professional with at least 7 years of HR experience with strategic and operational experience across multiple functions of HR.
• Experience leading Positive Employee Relations strategy across manufacturing and/or sales, includes partnering with talent management on leadership training curriculums.
• Experience in labor contract administration.
• Preferred experience: Working knowledge and interpretation of the National Labor Relations Act and Weingarten Act; experience with arbitration, mediation, and contract negotiations
Additional Ingredients: Essential Job Requirements
• A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study is required.
• An Advanced Degree, such as a Master’s Degree (MS) is preferred.
