Manager - Business Intelligence Services & Solutions Delivery manages the applications group that has specific responsibility for building and enhancing business intelligence solutions within the SAP BW environment. The Manager will be responsible for leading a team of technical BW experts who will partner with the business analyst(s), SAP Development, SAP Applications and Business strategic partner teams to design, build, test and implement SAP business warehouse solutions for Flowers Foods. The manager will support transformation, delivery and realization of SAP BW solutions across several functional areas in BI including: Sales, Delivery, Plant Maintenance, SAP Trade promotion planning, SAP Demand signal Management, Financials, Human Resources, Supply Chain, and among other business channels. The primary focus will be to execute the SAP Reporting & data Management Strategies, Identifying the inventory of BI development requirements (Interim and Long-Term) and partnering with a Strategic business partner, functional teams, SAP Development, and other IT teams to implement the KPI’s that the results are of a consistently high quality that meet the business needs.

Job Responsibilities

Position will:  

    Oversee and perform activities to modify existing or create new business intelligence applications that optimize value, cost, and risk:
    Execute the vision, strategy, roadmap and implementation of performance indicators and supporting metrics and trends for Flowers SAP BW solutions.
    Perform and oversee development tasks ensuring compliance with established methodologies and practices while holding all team members accountable for assigned tasks.
    Seek out continuous improvement opportunities and provide input and recommendations.
    Define and enhance methodologies (i.e. Agile, Waterfall) and practices for the application life cycle management in line with best practice and practical experience of continuous improvement. 
    Continually assess the impact of emerging SAP BW technologies against strategic business needs and interpret business value for the leadership team in a consultative capacity.
    Review and make initial assessment of issues, enhancements and projects feasibility, cost, scope, timeline and risk.
    Lead efforts to ensure the workplace environment supports a highly motivated and effective workforce focused on continuous improvement and best practices.
    Manage SAP BI COE personnel, developing their skills and capabilities to meet the needs of the organization, as well as building on existing recruiting capabilities to address new needs and skills gaps. 
    Manage development personnel through development life cycle, ensuring quality and adherence to governance and controls. 
    Track business project tasks and IT projects for the development team.
    Provide status updates that proactively communicate potential problems, recommended solutions and progress.
    Ensure that applications processes (including those of external service providers) are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, environmental and technical policies and applicable standards.
    Provide system support on and off hours.
    Design develop, and test SAP BW components required to support the BW and reporting and analytics environments using established development standards.
    Troubleshoot and research defects and reported issues.  Assist other developers in resolving issues.
    Oversee the development organization's successful delivery of business outcomes in partnership with business colleagues.
    Manage relationship with managed service provider to ensure they cost-effectively meet the needs of the organization
    Oversee support activities in conjunction with infrastructure and operations to ensure the applications perform well in production.
    Assist in establishing best practices and development standards.
    Perform other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including, but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.



Desired Experience

Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in system design and development of complex BW processes and environments including:
o    at least 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience building cross-organizational consensus with exposure to technology providers and/or business clients.
o    At least 5 years as a senior or BW lead.
Proven experience as a primary contributor on large complex development projects.
Bakery, CPG, DSD industry experience preferred.

Technical Skills
o    Project management methodologies.
o    Knowledge in Core SAP processes in SD, MM, PM, FI, CO, CRM and TPM.
o    SAP BW development and testing components required to support the data and analytic reporting requirements.
o    SAP BEx, BW 7.4 and above, HANA Studio.
o    HP-ALM.
o    SAP HANA data administration including managing schemas, data model objects, and import/export content.
o    Experience in model of developing Complex SAP BW/BI enterprise solutions.
o    SAP BW 7.x data modeling, data flow design (LSA++ design), data structures, security concepts, best practice and code migration through development, QA, and production.
o    Knowledge in BOBJ 4.1 and including Components such as Crystal Reports, Analysis for Office, Business Explorer, Analysis for OLAP, and Business Explorer.
o    Info cubes, DSO, Data sources, Transformations, Composite Providers, APD and Other BW Objects, Calculation views and Mixed models, IP Planning, CBP etc.
o    OSS notes research and message posting.
o    ABAP development is desired,
o    Unit, system, and integration testing tools and methodologies.
o    Data modeling and architecture.
o    Time/Cost estimating techniques.


The Senior BI Services & Solutions Delivery Developer must have in-depth knowledge and experience of the following:
    Project methodology.
    Understanding of core SAP processes.
    SAP Bex, BW 7.4 and above, HANA Studio.
    OSS notes research and message posting.
    HP-ALM a plus.
    Knowledge of BOBJ 4.1 and above components such as Crystal Reports, Analysis for Office, Business Explorer, Analysis for OLAP, Business Explorer a plus.
     Dashboard tools like Power BI, Tableau, SAC (SAP Cloud Analytics) preferred. 
    SAP CPS – Job monitoring and fixing.


Communication…………………………Speech and hearing abilities that allow the individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English (in person and via telephone) and/or other language, if required.  Strong communication skills with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate effectively with functional / technical staff, business stakeholders and IT management.  Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to nontechnical people to enhance understanding and drive decisions that lead to positive outcomes. Strong mentoring and coaching ability.  Excellent writing proficiency and presentation skills required.

Desired Education

An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in computer science, engineering, finance, business management or a related field.


The position is based out of Atlanta or Thomasville or Tallahassee. The ability to travel to Thomasville is on demand basis.
