Position will support mature/growing brand(s) and will play an essential role in helping Flowers reach its future growth targets.  Position will work closely with consumer insights team to relay important information to brand managers in order to create the short and long-term brand strategies. He/she must have ability to think strategically and have the ability to data into Insights.  Ultimately, he/she will gain broad exposure to all functional activities within a brand including consumer insights, marketing, sales, supply chain, and finance, which will result in strengthened general management and marketing fundamentals necessary for a holistic approach to driving business growth.


Role requires skill in connecting and building strong relationships with internal and external partners on a daily basis.  Ultimately, the associate brand manager must be able to learn what it takes to be a brand manager and interact in a dynamic environment with multiple functions which will equip him/her with the appropriate skills needed to transition to a Brand Manager as a next step on career path.



Position responsibilities inlcude, but are not limited to:

●          Support the brand manager to manage and own brand P&L.

●          Collaborate with cross-functional partners to inform brand strategy and make decisions that will lead to successful execution of said strategy.

●          Provide input and insight to brand manager to establish short and long-term brand vision that aligns with BU and category strategies, determine key growth drivers, and develop consumer-specific objectives to drive profitable growth across category.

●          Work closely with Brand Manager to oversee day-to-day activities at the brand level.

●          Conduct weekly review with Brand Managers to discuss performance and constantly seek out personal growth opportunities in brand management and cross-functional collaboration.

 ●         Help the Brand Manager prepare for the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) brand process and meetings; partner with AOP brand meeting attendees (consumer insights manager, media and agency marketing partner, product innovation manager, field marketing manager, sales partner, supply chain partner and finance partner) before meetings to make meetings and process efficient and productive. 

●          Attend weekly brand calls with cross-functional team to follow-up on open items, solve issues live, discuss brand opportunities, and own pulse on the brand to determine next steps in accomplishing brand strategy with the brand manager.

●          Gather deep consumer insights from Marketing in order to formulate new strategies that will increase market share and brand equity.

●          Partner with project innovation managers to ensure that brand(s) are constantly innovating and meeting current and future consumer needs.

●          Align closely with Sales, Marketing, and Field Marketing to ensure brand message is being properly executed in the marketplace.

●          Collaborate with cross-functional leaders from Sales on brand execution with customers and distributors and opportunities for new business.

●          Work closely with Supply Chain to understand capacity constraints, product costs, and opportunities for efficiency.

●          Align with Revenue Management on pricing strategies by region, product, and customer; gain insight on pricing strategy details and background to help brand manager make decisions on pricing guidelines.

●          Collaborate with Marketing to effectively leverage media spend, partnerships, and sponsorships to maximize brand performance.

●          Understand end consumers in respective brand(s) at the deepest level in order to drive strategies that are below the surface and will identify with consumers.

●          Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Sarbanes – Oxley, Safety, etc.)

●          Perform other duties which are deemed to be an integral part of the position, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.



At least 5 years of relevant experience in brand management, innovation, marketing, and/or strategy development. 1-2 years within CPG industry.  Strong analytical ability. 



MBA or at least 5 years of relevant experience.
