Bringing Home the Dough
The Associate Brand Manager (Wonder and Regional Brands) will support the Brand Managers in growing Brand(s) and will play an essential role in helping Flowers reach its future growth targets. They will work closely with Consumer Insights team to relay important information to Brand Managers in order to create the short and long term Brand strategies. Incumbent must have experience in strategic roles and have the ability to strategically craft Consumer Insights into effective Brand strategies and messaging. Positions will ultimately gain broad exposure to all functional activities within a Brand including Consumer Insights, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance, which will result in strengthened marketing fundamentals and a holistic approach to driving business growth. Additionally, the Associate Brand Manager must be able to connect and build strong relationships with internal and external partners on a daily basis. Ultimately, an Associate Brand Manager must be able to learn what it takes to be a Brand Manager and interact in a dynamic environment with multiple functions which will equip him/her with the appropriate skills needed to transition to a Brand Manager as a next step on his/her career path.
Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities
• Support the Brand/Channel Manager to manage and own Brand/Channel P&L and collaborate with cross-functional partners to set Brand/Channel strategy and make decisions that will lead to successful execution of said strategy
• Provide input and insight to Brand/Channel Manager to establish short and long term Brand/Channel vision that aligns with Business Unit and Category strategies, determine key growth drivers, and develop consumer-specific objectives to drive profitable growth across category
• Work closely with Brand/Channel Manager to oversee day-to-day activities at the Brand/Channel level
• Conduct regular business reviews with Brand/Channel Manager to align on growth objectives and strategic initiatives
• Conduct weekly review with Brand/Channel Managers to discuss performance and constantly seek out personal growth opportunities in Brand/Channel management and cross-functional collaboration
• Help the Brand/Channel Manager prepare for the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) Brand/Channel process and meetings; partner with AOP Brand/Channel meeting attendees (Consumer Insights Manager, Media & Agency Marketing Partner, Product Innovation Manager, Sales, Supply Chain Partner, and Finance Partner) before meetings to make meetings and process efficient and productive
• Attend weekly Brand/Channel calls with cross-functional team and follow-up on open items, solve issues live, discuss Brand/Channel opportunities, and own pulse on the Brand/Channel to determine next steps in accomplishing Brand/Channel strategy with the Brand/Channel Manager
• Gather deep consumer insights from Marketing in order to formulate new strategies that will increase market share and Brand/Channel equity
• Partner with Product Innovation Managers to ensure that Brand/Channel(s) are constantly innovating and meeting current and future consumer needs
• Align closely with Sales, Marketing, and Field Marketing to ensure Brand/Channel messaging is being properly executed in the marketplace
• Collaborate with cross-functional Sales leaders on Brand/Channel execution with customers and distributors and opportunities for new business
• Work closely with Supply Chain to understand capacity constraints, product costs, and opportunities for efficiency
• Align with Revenue Management on pricing strategies by region, product, and customer; gain insight on pricing strategy details and background to help Brand/Channel Manager make decisions on pricing guidelines
• Collaborate with Marketing to effectively leverage media spend, partnerships and sponsorships to maximize Brand/Channel performance
• Understand end consumers in respective Brand/Channel(s) at the deepest level in order to drive strategies that are below the surface and will identify with consumers
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Sarbanes – Oxley, Safety, etc.)
• Perform other duties which are deemed to be an integral part of the position, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.
Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications
• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in brand management, innovation, marketing, and/or strategy development
• Previous marketing experience preferred
• Previous experience in new product development, innovation, and bringing ideas to market
Additional Ingredients: Essential Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field required
• MBA or equivalent experience preferred
