Bringing Home the Dough

The Director, Facilities & Maintenance is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing facilities and maintenance strategies across Flowers Foods’ corporate offices in Thomasville. This role ensures facilities, building systems, and infrastructure are safe, compliant, reliable, and cost-effective, while supporting operational excellence and safety standards. The Director, Facilities & Maintenance provides leadership and subject matter expertise for preventive maintenance programs, capital planning, vendor management, and facilities compliance. This position partners closely with corporate functions to support business continuity and  long-term infrastructure sustainability across the enterprise.

 

 

Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities

  • Sets company-wide safety & security policies and creates a culture of safety by managing the company’s activities to ensure compliance with all safety & security policies and regulatory requirements
  • Partners with Supply Chain Operations Support to align facilities equipment design and maintenance practices with safety requirements
  • Develops and executes a corporate facilities and maintenance strategy aligned with organizational growth and operational objectives
  • Establish preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize asset reliability and minimize downtime
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Sarbanes-Oxley, Safety, etc.)
  • Performs additional duties, which are deemed to be an integral part of the position, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures
  • Established capital planning and long-range facilities investment roadmaps aligned with enterprise priorities
  • Develops and manages facilities operating and capital budgets, ensuring fiscal discipline and ROI accountability

 

Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 – 7 years of progressive experience in facilities and maintenance management
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection)
  • Proven experience managing projects and vendor relationships
  • Working knowledge of OHSA, building codes, and regulatory compliance

Additional Ingredients: Essential Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Supply Chain, Business or a related field
  • Master's degree preferred

Salary Range-  140000 - 150000
