The Basis/DBA Manger’s team will be responsible for managing and architecting the database and SAP environment. In addition to database and SAP responsibilities the Manger will also be responsible for Middleware support and architecture. The Basis/DBA Manager will manage a staff of IT professionals and work directly with information technology leadership and management team(s).  This position is also expected to facilitate the adoption of new or improved processes and/or procedures across the company to improve productivity in the department.



The Basis/DBA Manager will oversee and perform activities to support, modify, or create new processes for the business based on their needs:
-Manage cloud based information technology products and services to ensure high levels or performance and availability to the end users of the organization. 
-Responsible for the deployment of SAP and database solutions for Windows and Non-Windows server environments.
-Direct the administration and support of Databases, SAP Basis, and Middleware.
-Oversee software deployments of customized installation packages to Windows and non-Windows servers.
-Work directly with the IT Director of Hosting/DBA and communicate escalation/resolution across service lines and IT leadership as appropriate.  Engage collaboratively with the IT Director of Hosting/DBA in the employee evaluation, appraisal and staffing processes. Keep management informed on status of employee performance/nonperformance.
-Perform vendor management by researching and sourcing vendors, obtaining quotes with pricing, negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.
-Prepare and administrate a staffing schedule to ensure appropriate coverage while proactively managing labor costs.  Willingness to work various schedules to ensure adequate shift coverage is available at all times.  Participate in conducting employee reviews to ensure the staff understands expectations, standards and rules of the department.  
-Manage IT strategic planning, which includes project planning, organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources based on project demands and the unexpected changes that occur within the incident and problem management areas.  
-Manage the administration and upgrade of multiple information technology tools that are used to conduct day to day operations within the enterprise.  Ensure systems are reviewed on a periodic basis to confirm the possibility of needed upgrades of service packs, software versions, and licenses.  


Job Responsibilities



-Provide metrics to drive improvements in SAP and database performance and to enhance support strategies for all aspects of the company.  Monitor and report on customer service activities and customer feedback to ensure support is being handled in a professional and efficient manner.
-Perform customer follow-up communications as warranted based on customer feedback survey results.
-Independently study, develop and standardize complex technical procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of service operations making sure goals and objectives are met.
-Develop and update training material, support operating procedures.
-Provide on-call/after-hours support as needed to support functions escalated by IT Service Center.  
-Travel as needed to support remote locations and attend training & conferences.
-Subscribe to and advocate core department standards and methodologies including Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), IT General Controls (ITGC), basic project management, and general IT policies & procedures.  
-Perform special projects and related tasks as requested by IT Management.
-Assist IT Director of Hosting/DBA in managing OPEX and CAPEX spend for the current year and as well as assist in the forecasting future budgets to ensure cost effectiveness.
-Analyze and develop a strategy for licensing SAP and databases. Support any 3rd party license audit requests for these areas.
-Actively engage and work with IT Security and IT Risks teams to ensure changes to the environment adhere to the protocols set forth for the overall company’s security posture.  
-Establish and maintain regular meetings with internal teams and 3rd Party vendors regarding metrics and initiatives driven by IT or the strategic business partners.  
-Adhere to the policies and procedures set forth by the Information Technology department and the IT Director of Hosting/DBA.

    Display strong analytical and problem solving skills.
    Ability to work independently and skilled in exercising a high degree of initiative, independent judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives.

The Basis/DBA Manager must have in-depth knowledge and experience of the following:
    Standard technical troubleshooting and support processes.
    Project management methodologies.
    Expert Knowledge of Database technologies which may include MS SQL, Oracle, and SAP HANA.
    Expert Knowledge of SAP operation, support, and configuration
    Expert Knowledge of Federated applications and domain services.
    Expert knowledge of how Middleware software fits into application architecture.
    Proficient working with PowerShell. Python, and/or Perl scripts. 
    Proficient using CLI within Windows and *nix based systems.
    Expert knowledge of database queries.
    Ability to perform basic computer operations.


The following experience is considered essential:
    Seven (7) to Ten (10) years’ experience in the Information Technology Field Preferably in Systems Administration.
     Must have at least Three (3) years in a leadership position or in a senior level technical position. Familiarity with networked, distributed, or enterprise level computing environment concepts and techniques.
    Bakery industry experience preferred.

Desired Education

Desired Education is a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred. Technical school class room hours over 720 hours can substitute for one year of desired education. Work experience can substitute on a year by year basis for desired education.
