Job Responsibilities

The Senior Network Administrator will be responsible for
- The deployment of new switches, routers, and access points.
- Must have a strong background working in a Cisco/Meraki environment.
- Manage cloud-based information technology products and services to ensure high levels or performance and availability to the end users of the organization. 
- Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols
- Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures.
- Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation.
- Provide on-call/after-hours support as needed to support functions escalated by IT Service Center.  
- Travel as needed to support remote locations and attend training & conferences.
- Subscribe to and advocate core department standards and methodologies including Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), IT General Controls (ITGC), basic project management, and general IT policies & procedures.  
- Perform Special Projects and related tasks as requested by IT Management.
- Assist in the Management of projects when requested by IT Management.
- Actively engage and work with IT Security and IT Risks teams to ensure changes to the environment adhere to the protocols set forth for the overall company’s security posture.  
- Establish and maintain regular meetings with internal teams and 3rd Party vendors regarding metrics and initiatives driven by IT or the strategic business partners.  
- Adhere to the policies and procedures set forth by the Information Technology department and the IT Director of Network/Client Services. 
 

Desired Experience

The following experience is considered essential:
- Eight (8) to Ten (10) years' experience in the Information Technology Field Preferably in Systems Administration or Network Administration. Must have at least Two (2) years in a leadership position working in a senior level technical position.
- Familiarity with networked, distributed, or enterprise level computing environment concepts and techniques.
- Bakery industry experience preferred.

 

The Senior Network Administrator must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Strong communication skills with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate effectively with technical staff, business stakeholders, and senior management.
- Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to nontechnical people to enhance understanding and drive decisions that lead to positive outcomes.
- Conduct independent research, interpret highly technical documents, draw valid conclusions, develop technological solutions, take appropriate actions and/or make appropriate recommendation related to complex IT problems. 
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure and management of multiple priorities with competing demands for resources.
- Strong analytical, data-processing and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with unit, system and integration testing.
- Experience at providing estimates for project deliverables is a plus. 

 

The Senior Network Administrator must have in-depth knowledge and experience of the following:
- Advanced technical troubleshooting and support processes
- Project management methodologies.
- Ability to perform basic computer operations.
- Experience with Active Directory, LAN, WAN, WLAN, MAN, Exchange, and Microsoft express route preferred.
 

Desired Education

Desired Education for the Senior Network Administrator is a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred. Technical school class room hours over 720 hours can substitute for one year of desired education. Work experience can substitute on a year by year basis for desired education.
