Bringing Home the Dough
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as the primary strategic advisor to bakery leadership, aligning HR strategies with operational goals to support business success. This role is responsible for the full spectrum of HR functions at an assigned facility or facilities, including employee relations, policy administration, compensation, training and development, and select payroll responsibilities. The HRBP acts as both a change champion and employee advocate, driving workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, retention, and exit processes. In collaboration with Talent Management, the HRBP supports succession planning and learning opportunities to foster a high-performing and engaged workforce. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance and promoting a culture that supports product safety, legality, and quality.
Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities
- Direct and execute the company’s HR and labor relations policies, procedures, and programs at the facility level
- Provide general oversight of personnel administration, wage and salary administration, staffing, benefits, training, legal compliance, employee engagement, and safety
- Serve as the primary HR strategic advisor to plant leadership, fostering a collaborative and solutions-oriented relationship
- Promote and reinforce the corporate values and culture of Flowers Foods across all levels of the facility
- Partner with corporate stakeholders and regional HRBPs to build and maintain a strategic talent pipeline through recruitment, development, and succession planning
- Lead training and development initiatives for the plant leadership team to enhance managerial capabilities
- Translate business challenges into actionable HR initiatives that add value and drive business performance
- Interpret HR policies and approve policy exceptions within delegated authority; escalate other issues as needed
- Administer and maintain the facility’s affirmative action plan and ensure compliance with equal employment opportunity regulations
- Lead and manage the pre-employment process including sourcing, interviewing, screening, onboarding, and orientation of new hires
- Manage and maintain employee records, both electronic and physical, including salary data and temporary labor files
- Oversee compensation practices and ensure consistent execution of the performance management process
- Support and implement employee engagement strategies and cultural initiatives to strengthen workplace morale and retention.
- Confidently communicate and collaborate with both senior leadership and frontline employees
- Monitor HR metrics and workforce trends; use data insights to drive improvements and business decisions
- Collaborate with Centers of Excellence (COEs), HR Shared Services (HRSS), and Regional HRBPs to evaluate and improve HR program effectiveness
- Keep Regional HRBPs informed of critical HR and labor relations matters; assist as necessary
- Ensure ongoing professional development and compliance within the facility’s HR department
- Uphold all company policies and legal requirements, including EEO, Harassment, Safety, Affirmative Action, and Sarbanes-Oxley
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support business operations and workforce excellence
Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of increasing generalist responsibility within Human Resources in a 24/7 manufacturing environment with prior experience managing an HR team
- Must have the ability to operate with a very high degree of freedom within the framework of recommended corporate policies
- Bilingual in English/Spanish (preferred)
Additional Ingredients: Essential Job Requirements
- A four year degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
We offer a competitive salary and an excellent total rewards package. Salary range - $100,000 - $110,000 DOE.
